Arlin Wanderi Farms now Water Quality Certified
July 6, 2020 by MAWQCP
Congratulations to Arlin Wanderi! His farms are now Water Quality Certified in Minnesota’s Ag Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP).
Arlin’s farms are a few miles northeast of Perham, where he practices careful nutrient management, uses conservation tillage methods, and has planted cover crops for several years. Looking forward, Arlin plans to establish a cover crop after he harvests wheat.
The Wanderi farms have 49.6 acres in perennial cover and wildlife habitat through the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). Additional areas of the Arlin’s land are established to the ‘conservation cover’ of forest and grass, and he also maintains a grass filter strip along the water course on one of his farms.
Arlin keeps very busy with the good management of his farmland; he also invests many hours chopping and splitting wood.
Congratulations again to Arlin Wanderi, who received his Water Quality Certified Farm sign on June 29th, 2020, because of his efforts to protect our water and soil resources.
